Holger Rune’s mother Aneke celebrates her son with this post

Due to his deteriorating form, Holger Rune has received threats on social media; however, his mother supports him by acknowledging a lovely post.

Due to his declining form, Holger Rune has received threats on social media, and his mother recently disclosed the steps taken to stop them. The 20-year-old had an incredible final lift in 2022, winning two indoor hard court titles, including his first Masters in Paris-Bercy, where he defeated 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic to win the desired ATP 1000.

Social media users are becoming more critical of his performances. In her brief remarks, Rune called the entire experience absurd, finding it hard to understand why someone would send death threats over a tennis match loss.

Aneke Rune says it’s always good to find out about his son’s performance analysis because it’s a way for fans to talk to the players. But she draws a boundary, detailing the flaws in social media and how some people have made fake profiles in order to spread hate.

She said this in a recent interview: “I read a lot of analysis about social media. We cannot get rid of it because it’s part of the interaction for young people, which is good. It’s a way for the fans to interact with their idols, which is super good. The bad thing about social media is that there are so many fake accounts that write sh*t.”

Despite threats he’s received on social media for his poor form, Holger Rune’s mother supports him by praising one of his lovely posts.

Holger Runes mom calls Casper ruud "Not a real top 10 player"

"Furthermore, the mother says that Holger Rune's behavior only came about because Ruud had behaved badly:

- When you look at the other stars like Djokovic, Zverev, Medvedev and more, they are all helpful to the young. It's not Ruud, but it's probably because he is not a "real" top 10 player yet, she says."

She belongs on TTW, she thinks in a strong era Ruud would not be a top 10 player, she is probably right. She is probably a Sampras fan.
Still, in the context, it's a disgusting thing to say and her and her son are obviously very salty.

I don't want to generalize, but there is some truth to it, down to the lowest leagues actually.

When I played junior club tennis, it got hilarious from time to time. They always thought they alone were the know-it-alls and their kids couldn't understand anything on their own. Comments like: "Look son, your opponent is a lefty, so you must be aware that his backhand is on the other side" were not a rarity.

I cannot remember any players during my youth games who actually liked it when their parents watched.

Mother of rising star Holger Rune dragged into Stan Wawrinka feud

The mother of rising star Holger Rune has been dragged into a controversy that has erupted following the teenager's win over Stan Wawrinka in Paris.

Rune saved three match points to down the three-time grand slam champion, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) in the opening round of the Paris Masters.

But things became heated at the net, with Eurosport alleging Wawrinka told Rune: "My advice to you is that you stop acting like a baby on the court, OK?"

While Rune is yet to address the matter, his mother Aneke, who is also his manager, has spoken to Danish TV.

"It is hard to imagine that a sportsman like Stan would have said that," she said.

"Then he would come across as an uncommonly bad loser. Holger has only mentioned that he wished him well with the results of the past weeks."

It's not the first time this year Rune, a rising star of the sport who is currently ranked No.18 in the world, has courted controversy.

After losing to Casper Ruud in the quarter finals at Roland Garros, Rune claimed Ruud approached him in the locker room afterwards and yelled "YES" in his face, an allegation Ruud's camp denied.

"I don't know Holger personally, but I have seen on TV that sometimes there can be a lot of drama," Ruud said at the time.

"He's young and new, so that's excusable, but when you're on a big stage, it might be time to grow up a bit."

Rune has since advanced to the round of 16 in Paris, downing 10th seed Hubert Hurkacz 7-5, 6-1.
